Title: The Who, What, When, Where and How of Emotional Eating.
Have you ever noticed that at the end of a long stressful day or after an argument with a loved one you suddenly find yourself immersed in a bag of chips, a box of cookies or scanning randomly for something from the fridge? The act of seeking comfort from food is a common practice referred to as emotional eating. Together we will explore why this happens and what we can do about it.
This special topic will be presented by Dr. Dayna Lee-Bagley
Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the body is unable to regulate its blood sugar properly. If poorly managed, this condition can lead to serious damage to many of the body’s systems, especially the nerves and blood vessels. Fortunately, there are many modifiable factors that can help prevent the onset and progression of this disease. In this session we will discuss the physiology involved in blood sugar regulation and how type 2 diabetes occurs, explain how poor glycemic control can impact weight management, and review recommendations for the prevention and management of this condition.
