Developing your own meal planning tool kit can help you be more successful with your nutrition goals and make home cooking more enjoyable. In this session we will be discussing different cooking appliances and equipment that can help you with self-monitoring your food intake, save time in the kitchen, and produce yummy results that will keep you on track with your health goals.

In this talk we will delve into the details of evidence-based approaches, tips, and tricks to optimizing and enhancing your pleasure and sexual response. By augmenting mental and physical arousal and introducing mindfulness strategies we can help overcome medical and stress-related challenges to our sexual functioning. This talk will help empower you to make the changes needed to help you improve your sex life! All genders welcome.
Speaker's Bio: Dr. Shauna Correia, B. Eng, MDCM, FRCPC, undertook her medical training at McGill University before completing residency in psychiatry at Dalhousie University. She now serves as clinical faculty with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and works as a psychiatrist and sexual medicine specialist. In her main role at the province's tertiary care clinic, the BC Centre for Sexual Medicine (BCCSM), in Vancouver she assesses and treats men, women, individuals and couples referred for a wide variety of sexual difficulties and concerns (including sexual dysfunctions and sexual pain syndromes). She is involved in several research projects involving the optimization of sexual functioning and the role of mindfulness. She is currently serving as the Sexuality Theme Lead in the UBC Faculty of Medicine undergraduate education program. Outside of work Shauna enjoys travelling, hiking, skiing, dancing and spending time with her dog Seiki, a certified therapy dog.

Preparing meals for one person can present some unique challenges, some of which include: food waste, dietary fatigue from leftovers, difficulty altering calculations for recipes, decreased motivation, and lack of resources/support. In this session we will explore strategies for working through these barriers to make meal planning more feasible and enjoyable as a single person.

Are you in need of hitting the reset button? This group is specifically designed for individuals who are looking for support in getting back on track with their health goals. Too often, our progress gets derailed when we beat ourselves up over a lapse with unhealthy behaviours and procrastinate moving forward. In this session, we will provide the opportunity to gain insight from previous lapses, practice self-compassion, and develop a come back plan for moving forward. Everyone loves a good comeback story and this is a great chance to call a timeout as you get ready to write the next chapter on your weight management journey.
In this talk you will... - Learn basic sleep physiology. - Discover the dangers of poor sleep on appetite, blood glucose, cardiovascular disease, cancer, immune function, aging, and Alzheimer's disease. - Recognize factors in your life that are contributing to poor sleep. - Understand the uses and misuses of various sleep aids (alcohol, THC, CBD, melatonin, and sedatives). - Learn sleep hygiene techniques to start sleeping better tonight!
