[6:45pm] Food Planning and Cooking Skills 1 (4-week module)
- Description:
This is the first session of the 4-week Food Planning module. Registering for Session 1 will secure you a spot for the rest of the module. You only need to register for Session 2, 3, and/or 4 if you would like to submit a progress check to update us on your medical conditions.
This module will cover information on food planning and cooking skills required for healthy eating for chronic disease management. Changes to food environment, eating behaviours, and deskilling have lead to poor diet quality: -Decreased health and well-being -Increased risk of chronic disease Evidence shows that improved food preparation skills improves overall diet quality. Nutrition and food knowledge without application does not lead to behaviour change. Education through food planning and culinary skills has been shown to improve nutrition. Therefore, as patients living with chronic disease learn to better plan and cook more at home, health often improves.
