Self-monitoring is an important aspect of long-term weight management and can help you stay on top of your health goals. More specifically, keeping a food journal can help you more effectively meal plan, increase your calorie awareness, ensure you are getting adequate nutrition, and better navigate weight loss plateaus as well as weight maintenance. In this session we will look at different strategies to self-monitor your food intake through food journaling, explore some apps that you can use to accomplish this, and discuss how to better utilize this tool as valuable feedback that can help you optimize your progress with your nutrition and weight management.
This is an optional 8 week course delivered by Dr. Lee-Baggley, Registered Clinical Psychologist.
Studies suggest that most individuals in North America are sleep deprived. This has only gotten worse during the pandemic when most individuals report their sleep has been disturbed. There are well-documented effects of the impact of sleep on health, weight, well-being, mood, and quality of life. In this 8 week program, participants will learn evidence-based skills for improving sleep habits. This program will review the "what" of good sleep habits but more importantly will focus on "how" to start and stick to sleep-promoting behaviours. That is, using the science of behaviour change, this program will provide support for implementing and maintaining effective sleep habits.
