Dr. Lyon is well published researcher in the fields of nutrition, appetite regulation, dietary fiber,
and blood sugar regulation.

He is Board Certified in Obesity Medicine through the American Board of Obesity Medicine and he completed a three year family practice residency in 1988 and was Board Certified through the American Board of Family Medicine.

He has been a National Team Physician and his practice has focused upon sports and fitness medicine, nutrition, lifestyle modification, addictions, mental health, cognitive behavioral therapy and obesity medicine.

Veronica I. Kacicnik, MSc, RD, PHEc, CDE.      .         

Veronica Kacinik is a registered dietitian who is passionate about helping people develop a healthy food-body-mind relationship and discover the healthiest lifestyle they can truly enjoy. With extensive experience in obesity management, her approach to personalized care and support emphasizes respect, non-judgment, and compassion. She provides practical advice on nutrition, cooking, and meal planning as well as guidance toward self empowerment and well-being through behaviour change, delicious wholesome food, active living, and a healthy state of mind.

Jemmilee holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Diploma in Medical Office Assistant. She worked at physician's and surgeon's office for over 8 years and loves traveling and watching her kids' hockey games.

Tina Li, BSc., MSc.

Tina holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Acadia University. She has 3 years of experience as a research assistant at the Department of Food, Nutrition and Health at UBC. She was involved in research related to micronutrient status of Canadians and food security projects in developing countries such as Cambodia. She also presented research findings at local and international conferences. In addition, she volunteers as a senior health and wellness coordinator for a non-profit nutrition organization to deliver health services to community members.

Karen Tulloch, BSc.

Karen Tulloch is a BCAK registered kinesiologist as well as a BCRPA certified personal trainer, group fitness and aquatic fitness instructor. She has a B.Sc. in kinesiology from Simon Fraser University with a concentration in active health and rehabilitation; a certificate in applied health and fitness, and a certificate in applied human nutrition. Her diverse experience in the health sector includes working as a research assistant in SFU’s Chronic Disease System’s Modelling Lab, an exercise specialist for the MEND (BC) program, and as a student kinesiologist with the Canadian Space Agency.

Philip Ngo, BSc.

Philip holds a Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition and Health from the University of British Columbia. He has a major in Nutritional Sciences, and has interests in the fields of sports nutrition, weight management and dietary supplements.  He has two years of experience as a Nutritional Consultant, and delivered food and nutrition cooking programs to children in Vancouver during his undergrad. He is very passionate about health and wellness and loves to incorporate everything he learns at the clinic into his own life.

Indu Dharni, BSc, MPH.

Indu holds a Master of Public Health specializing in disease modelling from the University of Liverpool, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of British Columbia. She has 3 years of experience as a research assistant at the Department of Medicine at UBC. She was involved in research related to prevention and self-management of Type 2 Diabetes in the South Asian community.

Tessa Voth, BSc Candidate. 

Tessa has been at the Medical Weight Management Centre in the capacity of an obesity medical assistant since 2016. She is concurrently studying biomedical physiology at Simon Fraser University. She was involved in research relating to the impact of obesity and type 2 diabetes on mental health. Prior patient experience includes working with adults and children with developmental disabilities.

Benyamin Hakak-Zargar, BSc Candidate.

Benyamin has been at the Medical Weight Management Centre as an obesity medicine assistant since 2016. He is working towards a bachelor of sciences in Kinesiology and a minor in History at Simon Fraser University. His goal is to pursue a career as a physician. He has been working on program evaluation researches and has presented the findings at the 5th Canadian Obesity Summit. Also, he is involved in educational videos production and editing for the patients.
